FAQ is now (started) screenshots explain common functions like editing pages and adding images. In hindsight I should have darkened the irrelevant parts of the screen so the important parts stood out more, but it took me like 5 hours to select, capture, crop, modify and upload the shots that are on their now, so I’m not really up for re-doing it. Uploading images is going to be a pain no matter how well I explain it, and users will either figure it out or they won’t. This will definitely be something that I will take into consideration next time I build a wiki-style project.

On the less frustrating side, I also added and tested a “watch” feature so users can make sure people don’t fuck with their loved ones bios. This would also help with community building because stakeholders get to see the positive changes that are made i.e. memories and tributes that others leave.

Facebook unveils big changes

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) — Facebook unveiled a host of changes at its f8 developers conference that are already ruffling some users’ feathers.

Many of the changes take advantage of big revisions that Facebook made to its privacy settings in late March. Those changes opened the door to allow select third-party Web sites the ability to access and store some users’ personal information.

Those sites can use that information to show what a user’s Facebook friends have been doing on their sites. CNN, IMDB.com and ESPN.com are among the first sites signing up to use the technology. So if you’re a Facebook user reading CNN.com, you’ll be able to see what all your Facebook friends are looking at, view recommended stories and see which friends liked which stories.

XAuth: The Open Web Fires a Shot Against Facebook Connect

“A consortium of companies including Google, Yahoo, MySpace, Meebo and more announced tonight that it will launch a new system on Monday that will let website owners discover which social networks a site visitor uses and prompt them automatically to log-in and share with friends on those network. The system is called XAuth and serves to facilitate cross-site authentication (logging in) for sharing and potentially many other uses. Facebook and Twitter, the dominant ways people share links with friends outside of email, are not participating.”

I pushed the soc logo more to the right because it just seemed funny hanging out where it was. I changed the font size cause everything was just too small. I tried to figure out how to change the color of the menu bar, but I couldn’t figure it out.

I’ve moved around some of the things in the header to tighten the white space and align the logos. I also changed the font to Garamond and greytoned the footer div. Feel free to modify some more if you think anything could be better!
